These beautiful multi-storeyed structures were dated back to the 18th century from golden-yellow sandstone and have mud floors and wooden ceilings ensuring the moderate temperature inside, regardless of the weather outside. The haveli is well-known as the “Mansion of brocade merchants” which has been given probably because of the family dealt in threads of gold and silver mainly used for embroidering dresses. Patwon ki Haveli is presently occupied by the government which is used for various purposes.
